On the south side of Cumbre del Sol lies Moraira - also well known by some Norwegians. In folk monks, the old fishing village is called Spain's response to St. Tropez. How apt this is, can be discussed. For the city to be silent is tangible and comfortable. Moraira has been involved in fishing for many generations, but over the last twenty years the city has evolved into a modern tourist town. Moraira town is almost completely banned from building, but a lot is being built around the city. Strict zoning plans have at least so far prevented the city from developing into a new Calpe or Benidorm.
Moraira is part of the municipality of Teulada-Moraira, approx. 80 km. from Alicante. The traditional fishing port, now more of a seafront promenade and marina / marina, is located approximately in the middle of 8 km. long coastline with its beautiful white sand beaches such as the Portet or L’Ampolla, and small coves such as Andrago and Cap Blanc. Moraira as so many other places in Marina Alta are perfect for water sports such as sailing, diving, windsurfing and kiting for much of the year, primarily thanks to a perfect micro climate. Moraira is also ideal for those who appreciate hiking and nature experiences, with many signposted hiking trails and trails. The landscape is typical and characterized by pine forests and vines. Moraira has many events that attract interested from around the world, such as "300 Millas a Tres" regatta (January), Moraira-Santa Eulalia tall ship regatta (September), and Swim Crossing (August).
